box has been especially designed and constructed to transport that
valuable semen collection right to your door, with no harm to the sperm
or trauma to your bitch!
What makes this box so special??? Why is it so expensive??
First of all - it is NOT a styrofoam picnic type cooler as many semen shipper boxes are!
The vials of semen and extender won't roll around and get broken (I get reports of this from users of other shipping methods)
and you won't have to worry about receiving dead sperm from improper temperature control. (I get reports of this too from users of other shipping methods).
What's the difference??
The KCS box is 13" x 15" x 17", weighs over 13 pounds, and is lined with a 3 inch wall of solid insulating foam with a 6"x4" open well in the center.
Into this well, we insert 2 nested boxes.
The bottom box is kept in the freezer until it's time to use the box.
It contains the correct number and weight of freezer packs to keep the upper box at the correct temperature for chilled semen.
The top of the nested boxes is kept in the refrigerator and is cleverly designed to hold 2 cold gel packs (NOT FROZEN) with an opening in the side where we slide in the vial of Inseminaide extender containing the freshly collected sperm.
Over top of the nested box we place a 4" x6" deep insulating styrofoam block.
The vial cannot be bumped or moved even if the box is turned upside down.
If two vials are shipped in the same box, they can't move and "jar" the other one. They are totally secure. Nothing will break in a KCS box.
The KCS box is no 'lightweight'.
The calculated shipping weight by Fedex, based on dimensional weight is 16 lbs.therefore Fedex costs are higher than a picnic cooler -BUT- the semen is safe and secure!
The box has been built and specifically
insulated to withstand changing external temperatures, while keeping the
fresh cooled semen, stored in a vial of "Insemin -aid", (the transport
medium, or Extender) at a near constant correct temperature.
You can safely
ship that semen from Florida in December to the Northwest Territories or to Europe, and be assured that the semen will arrive safely, and in good numbers to inseminate your bitch, by means of an ordinary Artificial Insemination
